Tuesday, November 7th, 2006so it looks like the democrats will take control of the House. I wish I knew more about that to be able to talk about what that means. I guess it generally means that now the Republican president can’t do anything he wants, but at the same time Congress might never get anything passed through the president.
Still don’t quite know about the Senate control at this point. If democrats get control of the Senate, then even more so of what I just said.
Lastly, I hear that Perry is still Governor of Texas. Oh well. While Houston tends to be mostly democrat, it appears that much of the rest of Texas is not. Or maybe there was something about the issues that made Texans vote the way they did. The Border is usually an issue around voting time, but it hasn’t been so much at the front of the issues since I’ve been voting (of course, that’s not long). I’m sure Texans’ feelings about the border had a lot to do with the way they voted. That, and their feelings about Kinky Friedman. I remember hearing about Kinky like a year ago it seems. It could be that Kinky stole some votes from the Dems. It could also be that Texans are getting more interested in an independent candidate. Maybe I’m just sleepy.
